The inaugural Grand Finale of ARTA 2018 is soon to take place. While the team is superbly busy with the last-minute event preparation, we are glad to understand a history that is in the making. The Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards, ARTA will mark the dawn of appreciating South Asian Cuisine in the UK. ARTA not only aims to recognize the hard-working super heroes behind the making of a multi-million dollars food industry in the UK but also work on keeping the industry alive with generations to come.
Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards wants not just to keep the tradition moving but also upgrade it to the level where it is worth mentioning. The industry suffered a steep downturn due to talent and staff shortages, which ARTA is up to curing. The sheer disinterest into not choosing catering as a profession needs to be fixed and the inaugural ARTA 2018 is just the start to eliminate the idea. 
With successful business nominations from all over the UK, we received epic responses from the public. Their nominations helped us pick the regional contestants for the Cook-offs. The entire UK has been divided into 16 regions and local colleges and universities gleefully welcomed the participants and hosted all the Cook-Offs. We couldn’t be any less happy regarding how the educational institutions want their students to see that catering has a professional future.
ARTA completed marvelous Cook-Offs and the talents that all participating restaurants portrayed were praiseworthy. After vivid scrutiny and final judging process, ARTA found all its Season 1 winners, to be disclosed on the inaugural Grand Finale on the 30th of September 2018 at the InterContinental Hotel – The O2 London. The Finale will be hosted by Celebrity Chef and Presenter, Ainsley Harriot and BBC World Broadcaster and Journalist, Samantha Simmonds. Graceful entertainment has been confirmed by Bollywood Melody Queen and 7-time Filmfare Awards Winner for the best female playback, Alka Yagnik. A lot more awaits. ARTA believes the evening will mark the beginning of an era to appreciate South Asian Cuisine better.

Chance to Shine receives a £7903 Cheque from ARTA

ARTA’s Charity Partner “Chance to Shine” has been handed over a cheque worth £7903 on 13 th February 2019 in a restaurant in London. The Charity Handover Event was organised by ARTA . The Collection commenced as soon as ARTA inaugural Grand Finale , held on 30 th September 2018 at the InterContinental Hotel – The O2 London, successfully ended. ARTA, in its Grand Finale and in collaboration with its Strategic Partner ChefOnline, collected the charity for Chance to Shine. The Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards , ARTA, is a nationwide celebration of recognising the unsung heroes and top-notch establishment of South Asian Cuisine in the UK. Battle to find Britain’s best curry is hosted at Cambridge Regional College

Nine of the finest regional chefs went head to head in the contest which was filmed for a cookery show on Channel S, a popular UK-based TV channel targeting the British Bangladeshi community. Among the judging panel was Head of Department for Catering and Hospitality, Graham Taylor, who helped pick winners for the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2019, known as ARTA. Graham said: “It is a great honour to host these prestigious awards for the second year with some of the finest curry chefs in the country. We all learn from each other on the day too which is brilliant.” Mohammed Munim is founder of the ARTA contest, where around 2,400 businesses are nominated by customers. Judges choose the best contestants to compete in regional finals, such as the eastern one at Cambridge Regional College.
