The UK’s Best Asian Restaurants, Chefs and Personalities Revealed at the Oscar’s of the Curry Industry, the Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards 2019 in London

The Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster, played host to the glitzy celebrity red-carpet event to reveal the best of the UK Asian cuisine industry across restaurants, takeaways, chef’s and personalities. Bolton Restaurant, Hot Chilli scoops top accolade as Britain’s best Asian restaurant from over 2400 applications. ARTA rewarded excellence, craft, creativity and great taste by bringing the UK’s most prestigious Asian restaurants and chefs together under one roof. Battle to find Britain’s best curry is hosted at Cambridge Regional College

Nine of the finest regional chefs went head to head in the contest which was filmed for a cookery show on Channel S, a popular UK-based TV channel targeting the British Bangladeshi community. Among the judging panel was Head of Department for Catering and Hospitality, Graham Taylor, who helped pick winners for the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2019, known as ARTA. Graham said: “It is a great honour to host these prestigious awards for the second year with some of the finest curry chefs in the country. We all learn from each other on the day too which is brilliant.” Mohammed Munim is founder of the ARTA contest, where around 2,400 businesses are nominated by customers. Judges choose the best contestants to compete in regional finals, such as the eastern one at Cambridge Regional College. ARTA’s Charity Partner “Chance to Shine” has been handed over a cheque worth £7903 on 13 th February 2019 in a restaurant in London. The Charity Handover Event was organised by ARTA . The Collection commenced as soon as ARTA inaugural Grand Finale , held on 30 th September 2018 at the InterContinental Hotel – The O2 London, successfully ended. ARTA, in its Grand Finale and in collaboration with its Strategic Partner ChefOnline, collected the charity for Chance to Shine. The Winner was declared at the ARTA Inaugural Grand Finale and Gala Evening, held on 30 th of September 2018 at the InterContinental Hotel – The O2 London. The inaugural Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards ( ARTA ), the most prestigious celebration of South Asian cuisine in the UK, paid homage to the UK’s finest curry houses at the InterContinental London – The O2 on the evening of 30 th September 2018. ARTA 2018 welcomed a guest list of the nation’s most respected curry restaurateurs alongside MPs, dignitaries and celebrities as they collectively honoured the achievements of the industry. In attendance were Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Sir John Vincent Cable, television personality Lizzie Cundy, reality star Ben Jardine, Britain’s Next Top Model contestant Victoria Clay, cricketer Monty Panesar, TOWIE star Pascal Craymer among others, The ceremony was hosted by television chef Ainsley Harriott and BBC news presenter Samantha Simmonds .
